We offer cycling and hiking maps free of charge, as well as many written walks. Park your bike or motorcycle safely in the night locked shed. There is a playground, football and basketball court across the street.

Activities in the region

Montenau is located in the cozy triangle Malmedy, St. Vith and Butgenbach. Here in the eastern provinces (oostkantons), there is still plenty of untouched nature. Between the Eifel and the Land of Eupen is naturepark the "Hoge Venen", one of Europe's last bogs park. Dense coniferous woods and deciduous sunny tree forests alternate.

For hikers, it is hard to choose. The possibilities are enormous: 25OO km of marked hiking trails: Long distance hiking, theme trails, kid-friendly hikes, ...

The Ravel Route, a former railway line that runs from Germany to Luxembourg in Belgium, has been in use since 2012. The Vennbahn is a bike path of 150 km, which is almost completely flat. It is one of the longest cycle paths of Europe.

Do you want a cycle outline the "Hoge Venen" also features a signposted system. The network "Velo Tour" includes 850 km of cycle paths!

For the adventurous bikers, there are the mountain bike routes: 18 selected routes of varying difficulty and length.

There is historically much to discover in eastern Belgium. Traces of rich history are the numerous historic buildings, churches, free standing townhouses and archealogic sites. Castles and fortresses: every bike ride or walk has it in store for you.

The Winter is here written with a capital letter. If the condition of the snow is good, 21 ski resorts invite you to come cross-country skiing, sledding or hiking with snowshoes.
Or visit one of the atmospheric Christmas Markets in Aachen or Luxembourg.

So, as you see, Zum Gold Hahn is a true holiday paradise!
